A
network of learning communities in CBCRM
The Learning
and Research Network (LeaRN) is a regional initiative
that aims to establish a network of learning communities of CBCRM
practitioners and advocates in Asia and Canada and further develop
the theory and practice of a sustainable livelihoods
approach to CBCRM. With funding support from the International Development
Research Centre (IDRC), the Rockefeller Brothers Fund (RBF), and
the Open Society Institute (OSI), LeaRN is being implemented by
a consortium of the CBCRM Resource Center in
the Philippines, and the Centre for Community-Based
Management (CCBM) at St. Francis Xavier University and Lester Pearson
International at Dalhousie University, both in Canada. |

final year of the program was a strong one for LeaRN, with the key
project components coming along more strategically and effectively.
With its primary function of linking, coordinating and facilitating
joint work among its partners in the region, much has been accomplished

| Coming
at the heels of the project's initial phase, a LeaRN Regional Consultation
has been slated on 28-30 April 2005. The consultation-workshop will
be held at the Lake Island Resort, Binangonan, Philippines. It aims
to draw lessons from the LeaRN project and map out common perspectives
on regional learning and networking in CBCRM. go
